why ipmportant chhandrayaan-3

chandrayaan-3 is a follow-on mission to cahndrayaan-2 to demonstrate end-to-end capacity in safe landing and roving on the lunar

India is about to launch chandrayaan - 3 the cost of this mission is Rs. 615 crores and this is ISRO'S most difficult mission to date.

Q.1  why is chandrayaan important?

chandrayaan is important not only for India’s program but also for India’s economy. often when we watch a space documentary, it seems that the moons are not far from the earth, the truth is there is a huge distance between the moon and the earth that all the planets of our solar system can fit in between. the moon is not just a satellite but a geopolitical milestone. when we talk about the moon landing then every person remembers in America but very few people would know before America landed the moon, USSR reached the moon with Luna-2 that too 10 years before the Apollo 11 mission. of course, Russia has never sent humans to the moon, but it was the first to reach the moon. there are only three countries in the world that have soft landing on the moon, America, Russia, and China. a soft landing means a safe landing, that is, the spacecraft should safe after landing. this soft landing is very important because once we prove that ISRO can execute a soft landing, then we can take up important international space projects. NASA id doing projects like this today and earning a sum of money we can take a few projects too we deftly reached the moon in 2008 through chandrayaan-1, but it was a moon impact probe that did a hard landing. four years ago, the main objective of chandrayaan-2 was to execute a soft on the moon. chandrayaan launch was successful, in fact, we successfully completed the distance of 3,84,400 km from earth to the moon, but while landing in spite of being only half a kilometre away from the surface of the moon we could not land due to a software glitch. the plan was that Vikram rover would study the moon's surface for 14 days and send us the information but the mission was left incomplete due to the failure of communication devices. now chandrayaan - 3 wants to rectify this mistake. this is a golden opportunity for India to show our improve technology to the world. there is one special thing about chandrayaan - 3, and that is its landing location. earth and moon are in a one-sided relationship. you must know that the earth is tidally locked to the moon, meaning that only one side of the moon is always visible to the earth and not the other side. 41% of moon remains hidden from the earth. similarly, there are large craters on the moon where sunlight has not reached for billions of years.by studying these craters, we can get important information about the origins of our solar system. it is that water may be hidden in these creators, were not talking about tiny quantities 100 million tonnes of water. at the same time, it is thought to be a source of essential of resources like hydrogen, ammonia, methane, sodium, mercury, and silver. this location can become an important stop for upcoming space missions.

Q.2 why this mission is different? what was the improvement in chandrayaan -3?

there are 5 points we'll understand each one by one.

  1. number one is the payload our payload in the 2019 mission was a bit more complicated there were 3 main components, the lander, the rover, and orbiter. in 2023 mission our payload has been simplified, this time we only have the rover and lander in 2019, our orbiter completed its mission, so this time there was no need to include the orbiter.
  2. 2. pawer full lander- the team of chandrayaan-3 has learned important lessons from the of chandrayaan-2. The legs of our lander have been made stronger than the earlier version so that it can better resist the impact of landing and survive the landing earlier, our was not that powerful, so it could not reduce its speed in time before landing and it fell some it fell some 750 metre away from the exact spot where it was supposed to land. Now the engine capacity of our lander has been increased. At the same time, a hazard detection system has been added to it.
  3. instruments- The moon becomes a great platform to study earth, from which we can collect data about our earth, and plan future mission. They can be used for weather pattern detection as well as in case studio of exoplanets chandrayaan-3 is going to have an instrument named shape which means ‘spectro-polarimetry of habitable planet earth’, shape will read earth’s data and use it to find habitable exoplanets outside our solar system.
  4. Launch vehicle -the launch of chandrayaan-3 is important because of one more reason, and that is LVM 3 launch vehicle, which is capable of carrying 30%more weight than our first GSLV mark 2 launch vehicle.in simple language, its mean the success of this launch vehicle is also important for india because with this launch vehicle we can send payloads into space, we will be able to prove our capabilities to the world

5.making coast – we launched chandrayaan-2 for approximately Rs. 870 crores. By the way, this coast is 3times less than the avengers. End game, but know we have become more efficient, and the total budget of chandrayaan-3 is going to be aapprox Rs. 615 crore. This is this is the proof of our increasing efficiency.

Q.3 is ISRO a waste of money?

When india launched Mangalyaan, the new York time made fun of us by publishing this cartoon. Why don’t we have such cartoons about china? Is there no poverty in china?why such cartoons are not made about the UAE? Is UAE prfect? India is an emerging country, india is a democracy, and yet is playing an important role in sector like space. Perhaps this not digestible to some western people. then they ask a question like, can india afford a space program? Let’s ask a simple question. How much do we spend on our space program every year? satish Dhawan sir knew that question were going to be raised on money give to ISRO that’s why when he became the chief ISRO he used to take only 1 Rs as salary, and ISRO carrier the legacy of this efficiency even today see this chart we have been increasing the budget of our space program consisiently for the last 20 years, that’s a fact. But this is only 0.8 our GDP. To put thing into perspective. We spend 36,000 crore to run our postal service, but what do we get with this money? we get to keep an eye on our friendly neighbour china. China is so attached to india that it keeps sending its people too arunachal and Ladakh, making settlement there, and gradually it steals india’s land using the onion slicing method bu ISRO’s satellite transmits this information to our security, and more than 10 surveillance satellites observe china’s naval activities. When the fani cyclone came in 2019, ISRO’s satellites gave us timely warnings. Due to the information from these satellites, 11.5 lakh people were safely evacuated from odisha. Today odisha has become number one in disaster management, and united nations also advise other countries to learn odisha disaster management model. ISRO gives us data after studying our geography, and using this data we can give guidance to the farmers by getting information about earthquakes, cyclones, and floods in advance,we can be better prepared, and reduce the damage, and all this is possible because of our satellites. ISRO’s budget is 15 time less than NASA, and with such a low budget, ISRO’s scientist make your and our lives better and not only for us, ISRO also launches  satellites for foreign countries and earns money from it. To data, we have launched a total of 239 satellites for 28 countries. the whole has so much faith in india’s talent and efficiency, it is matter of pride for us. space has become a multi-billion-dollar industry. And through chandrayaan-3, we can use the rare metals and minerals on the moon for the future of humanity. Recently , space startups in the got a big boost, and ISRO is encouraging and guiding many space startup. Because the satellite launching industry a 13billion-dollor-industry today. And its going to be 24 billion dollars in the next 5 years. if we can capture even 20% of this industry, we can bring 10 time the money of our space budget to india every year, and Vikram sarabhai knew this. He is known as The father of the Indian space program. When nehru ji told Vikram sarabhai that india is a poor country, we have many social problems. We cannot afford a space program. So sarabhai replied back yes, we are a poor country, we have many social problems, an that’s why we need a space program. It is vision that is taking ISRO to new heights today. Were other countries use space for weaponization, we use it for the betterment of humanity.
